Heidi, Maker of the Best Raspberry Jam We've Ever Tasted!
It’s the combination of hard work & best practices on the part of Heidi & her brother Doug that make the incomparable organic jams of Heidi’s Raspberry Farm possible. Making these mouth-watering jams begins with a meticulous approach to sustainable methods on their farm in Corrales, New Mexico.
Corrales is a unique agricultural village farmed by small families who have been living there for generations. Located on the Western bank of the Rio Grande, Corrales has been farmed since 500 A.D. Back then the ancestors of the present day Pueblo Indians tilled the fertile valley. Subsequent populations of Spanish, French and Italian families settled there to raise grapes, apples, livestock and now RASPBERRIES!
Having grown up in this special place Heidi & Doug are dedicated stewards of the land, as well as sensitive to the environmental needs of the world community. They are truly “walking the walk” when it comes to best practices for sustaining the land & the health of the community. Doug has converted the farm to a drip irrigation system that makes the most efficient use of precious water. He provides hives in the field for the honeybees which pollinate the delicate raspberry blossoms. A flock of native Rio Grande turkeys control the insect population amongst the hedge rows.
They’ve been selling raspberry jam, fresh raspberries and cut flowers at the local Farmers’ Markets in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Corrales and Albuquerque. By personally selling their delicious jams Heidi & her brother Doug have made a lot of wonderful friends. They’ve also built a loyal following of appreciative customers who keep coming back for more of their amazing jams!
